Get to know me

I have presented hundreds of keynote talks on leadership, change, working with others, engagement, organizational culture, and storytelling at association meetings, corporate settings, governmental agencies, and other venues.  With both my educational background and my practical experiences in the high-stakes real-world working the "people issues" at the FBI, I focus keynotes on solid, practical advice based on the latest scientific research in the areas of psychology, neuroscience, leadership, and management in an entertaining and relatable way.  It is fun to be entertaining, it is amazing to make a real difference in employees’ every day lives.

I implemented numerous change initiatives within the FBI, from serving as a leader on the post-9/11 enterprise-wide culture and process transformation of the FBI to implementing HR systems and processes at all levels to cultural and leadership mindset changes necessary for digital transformation.   I have worked extensively with nearly all populations within the FBI, including Special Agents, pilots, Hostage Rescue Team members, Intelligence Analysts, IT professionals, financial experts, as well as mid-level and executive populations within both the Special Agent and Professional Staff ranks.  I had the privilege to build and run two Centers of Excellence from scratch within the FBI --- the organizational development (OD) function as well as the Leadership Development function, building the FBI’s “people” capability.

While providing practical human capital solutions within a high-stakes environment, I've also built credentials on the academic side, presenting numerous papers at professional conferences and publishing book chapters. I have also served on advisory boards both internal and external to the FBI, and liaisoned extensively within the government and the private sector communities.

I have worked directly for leaders in three C-level functions --- CHRO, CFO, and CIO --- for the last 15 years and I understand the complexity of operational and personnel challenges at that level.  I have conducted hundreds of workshops and retreats in order to help build teams, facilitate complex decision making, and plan and navigate change initiatives, with a focus on high-stakes roles and functions. I also served as executive coach at the FBI to leaders at all levels from front-line through the C-suite, providing support and guidance through many personnel and operational challenges.

On the personal side, I am a sports junkie and you can usually find me cheering on one of my five kids at cross country, volleyball, basketball, dance, lacrosse, football, track, or soccer....or my husband coaching a high school team.   I love to cook (ask me about my flatbreads) and hike (Eyebrow Trail anyone?) and run on the beach (shout out to Exit 17) and hang out with our Bernese Mountain Dog, Finn.
